The word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward. ” (Genesis 15:1)

Dear GBC Family,

Listed below are some upcoming opportunities at Grace:

CELEBRATION OF LIFE - Sunday, 9:30 am  - The grieving process for family members and friends is never easy. Therefore, in an effort to provide support and hope, this Sunday’s worship will provide a time for the church to remember and celebrate those who have passed physically from death into life during the past year. To those in the Grace Church family who are grieving please know you are loved and your church family is praying for you.

ADVENT - Sunday is also the first Sunday of Advent that marks the start of a month-long focus in our worship on the first-coming of Christ into the world. Advent means “coming.” It has historically tied the First Advent (the coming of Christ in the manger at Bethlehem) to the Second Advent (the coming of Christ again to the earth in Rev.1:7, 19:11-16). Christians for many years have used this season to anticipate the celebration of Christmas on December 25.

PRAYER FOR INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS - Let me encourage you to join Southern Baptists in praying for our missionaries who are serving internationally. Prayer guides will be available Sunday during worship or you can visit the International Mission Board’s website so you can be engaged in "hoping the ropes" for our missionaries who are serving for the sake of the gospel in difficult places around the world.

PRISONER CHRISTMAS PACKETS - Will you prepare a "prisoner bag" so a S.C. inmate can experience hope. It is simple...pick up a zip-lock bag on Sunday, by the door of the CLC.  Inside the bag, you will find instructions and a list of items needed.  Please return any bags you have completed to the church by Sunday, Nov 28.

POINSETTIAS - Again this year you are asked to help decorate the church for Christmas by placing a poinsettia in ‘memory’ or ‘honor’ of’ someone.  Each poinsettia is $7.50. To order you can contact the church office either by phone, 843.662.5122, or email,

GRACE 242 - Family Night Meal and Baptism, Wednesday, December 1, 6:30 pm - The Grace Church family will enjoy a wonderful meal and fellowship together beginning at 6:00 pm. Following the meal, we will transition to the Worship Center to celebrate baptism. Everyone is asked to make reservations for the meal by TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30. The menu will be a Breakfast Meal: Eggs, Grits, Bacon, Sausage, Biscuits & Gravy & Drink. The cost of the meal is $5.00 for adults (12 & older), $3.00 for children (ages 3-11) or a maximum of $20.00 per family. To make reservations and/or volunteer to deliver call or email Laura, our Ministry Assistant, at (843) 662-5122 or

SUNDAY’S BULLETIN - Please take a few moments to review Sunday’s bulletin, which is attached, and be reminded about what is happening in the life of Grace Baptist Church as well as Christmas opportunities of worship and fellowship at Grace.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday,

Pastor John
